“The Light Shines” Printable Card

A luna moth flying through the night sky. This is a reminder that even though a mother feels like she’s walking through a dark season, there is light too. I left this card blank on the inside as I felt the scripture on the front spoke volumes. It is free for you to express what you’d like.

Butterfly Landscape Printable Card

After I lost my daughter, Mary Alice, I developed a fondness for butterflies. They reminded me of her and have continued to be something extra special to me ever since I carried her. I have also found this to be a popular symbol for other mothers who’ve lost a child. It was only fitting I created a card with a butterfly. The inside of this card reads:

“On Mother’s Day I can think of no mother more deserving than a mother that had to give one back.”

Purple Iris Printable Card

There isn’t really a meaning behind this painting other than I think Irises are pretty and make me smile. The inside reads:

“Grief is the price we pay for love”

Queen Elizabeth II

Who doesn’t smile at water-colored flowers and leaves? This card is meant to bring a smile to your face and a warmth to your heart. The quote I used is lengthy, but C.S. Lewis says what every child-loss Mama thinks so perfectly:

“If a mother is mourning not for what she has lost but for what her dead child has lost, it is a comfort to believe that the child has not lost the end for which it was created. And it is a comfort to believe that she herself, in losing her chief or only natural happiness, has not lost a greater thing, that she may still hope to “glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” A comfort to the God-aimed, eternal spirit within her. But not to her motherhood. The specifically maternal happiness must be written off. Never, in any place or time, will she have her son on her knees, or bathe him, or tell him a story, or plan for his future, or see her grandchild.”
